Alternative Transportation

Riding the bus, carpooling, biking, walking, vanpooling, telecommuting and compressed work week – the choice is yours! There are as many travel options as there are reasons to make the switch from driving alone.

Why switch? Choosing to get around town some way other than driving alone in your car reduces traffic congestion, improves Missoula’s air quality and saves you money!

If you would like more information about transportation alternatives, contact one of the following offices:

Biking and walking – Bicycle and Pedestrian Office, 523-4626

Way to Go Club!

If you pledge to commute to work once a week by any other means than alone in your vehicle, you are eligible to join Missoula In Motion’s Way to Go! Club. The Way to Go! Club was created by Missoula In Motion as a special way to reward those throughout the community who are choosing a different option than driving alone in their cars. Way to Go! Club members walk, bicycle, carpool, vanpool, ride the bus, telework from home, and shuffle their work schedules in order to reduce traffic congestion, decrease air pollution, and save money.

By pledging to use another way to get to work at least once a week and tracking your commutes, you will qualify for great members-only benefits, including a sign-on gift, a quarterly newsletter, monthly prizes, member events, and a Guaranteed Ride Home in case of illness, emergency, or unexpected overtime. To sign up for the club, log on at www.missoulainmotion.com and click on Way to Go! Club. Please call 258-4961 with any questions.
