Downtown Transfer Center for Renovation

MISSOULA, MONTANA (May 8, 2012) — The Mountain Line Downtown Transfer Center will be closed beginning Monday, May 14, 2012, for renovation.  Included in the project will be the construction of concrete travel lanes for buses and improvements to sidewalks, crosswalks, and curb/gutter.  Additionally, a new landscaped median between the Transfer Center and Pine Street will be constructed, a bike station installed, and solar added to the main building.

The construction is expected to last through July and will include the closure of Pine Street to traffic between Woody Street and Ryman Street per future news releases and notices.

During renovation Woody Street between Pine Street and Spruce Street will be a temporary Transfer Center for buses and passengers and will be closed to traffic and parking.  On Woody Street, the southernmost entrance to the parking lot behind City Hall will remain open.  Temporary traffic signs will assist all vehicles.

 Service begins at 8:55 am and runs approximately every 20 minutes.

The last trip leaves downtown at 11:45 am.

Request for Proposal

For Transit Advertising Services

 Notice is hereby given by the Missoula Urban Transportation District (MUTD), that it will receive sealed proposals from qualified firms for the purchase of exterior transit advertising services in accordance with complete specifications and requests for proposals.  Proposals must be submitted to the General Manager and received no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at MUTD’s offices at 1221 Shakespeare, Missoula, MT 59802.

MUTD reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to negotiate with all proposers in the competitive range and to accept the proposal which is considered to be the most responsive and responsible.

FY 2012 Program of Projects

Notice is hereby given that, if requested, a public hearing will be held on April 23, 2012 at 9:00 AM at Mountain Line’s offices, 1221 Shakespeare for the purpose of receiving public comment on MUTD’s FY 2012 Program of Projects prepared pursuant to Federal Transit Administration guidelines.

1. Operating Assistance.  The Missoula Urban Transportation District estimates that $1,016,692 in 5307 funds will be used for this purpose.
2. IT System Upgrade.  The District estimates that $16,000 in 5307 funds will be used for this purpose.
3. Replacement of two paratransit vehicles.  The District estimates that $96,000 in 5307 funds will be used for this purpose.
4. Replacement of supervisory vehicle.  The District estimates that $28,000 in 5307 funds will be used for this purpose.
5. Transit operating assistance to defray operation expenses for the period July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.  The total FY 2012 funds for operating assistance is estimated to be $248,000 in CMAQ funds, $98,979 in New Freedoms (5316) funds and $129,492 in Job Access Reverse Commute (5317) funds.
6. Transportation Demand Management.  The District estimates that $125,541 in CMAQ funds will be used for this purpose.
7. Purchase of two Park and Ride Vans.  The District estimates that $64,935 in CMAQ funds will be used for this purpose.
8. Bicycle and passenger amenities.  The District estimates that $133,744 in 5309 Bus & Bus Livability funds will be used for this purpose.
9. This Program of Projects is being published to provide the opportunity for public comment by interested citizens, private transportation providers, and locally elected officials.  A copy of the Program of Projects is available for review at the Mountain Line offices at 1221 Shakespeare, Missoula, MT 59802.  The Program of Project is also posted on the Mountain Line website at www.mountainline.com under public notice.  The District invites interested parties the opportunity to submit comments, orally or in writing, regarding the Program of Projects and the overall performance of the District.  Any written or fax comments must be submitted by the date of the proposed public hearing to 1221 Shakespeare, Missoula, MT 59802.
10. Unless amended, this Program of Projects will constitute the final Program of Projects.
