MISSOULA – With the January roll out of Zero-fare, additional BOLT! 15-minute service, and late evening hours, riding the bus to the Western Montana Fair has never been easier. Fairgoers can “ride the line” on Routes 1, 6, or 7 to the Missoula County Fairgrounds.
“A lot of folks have been asking us if we’re doing any special service for the Fair this year,” said Bill Pfeiffer, Mountain Line community outreach coordinator. “With the beginning of Phase 2 and Zero-fare this January, it’s easier than ever to ride the bus and we have several routes that serve the fairgrounds.” Pfeiffer says the Mountain Line’s Route 1 BOLT! Service will be running every 15 minutes from the South Ave parking area past the main entrance to the fair until 9pm, Monday through Friday. Route 1 will operate once an hour on Saturday as well.
In addition to the Route 1 on South Ave, Route 6 serves the south end of the fairgrounds via Bancroft and Russell, and Route 7 serves the main entrance via Stephens Avenue and the South Gate Mall every 30 minutes.
“While we don’t have a specific service running just for the Fair, it’s still easy and convenient to catch the bus to the fairgrounds,” Pfeiffer says.
