MISSOULA, MONTANA (September 8, 2014) – On Saturday, September 5, 2014, four Mountain Line operators competed in the Montana Transit Association’s Montana State Roadeo competition for public transit operators held in Butte.
The four Mountain Line operators competed by driving an obstacle course featuring 11 stations. The course simulated a number of driving elements that drivers encounter on a daily basis including turns, stopping close to fixed objects and clearing narrow spaces. In addition to being judged on accuracy while driving the course, the competition was also timed with contestants needing to complete the course in under 7 minutes.
Participant Brian Ursery was competing for a state record 6th win at the roadeo. “I really enjoyed the competition,” said Ursery. “Unfortunately, we didn’t bring home a win this year, but we all had a great time.”
All Mountain Line operators finished in the top-10 at the competition, with the Billings operators winning the overall competition. For more information on the 2014 MTA Montana State Roadeo contact Customer Service at 721-3333.
