MISSOULA, MONTANA (September 30, 2014) – Biking at the University of Montana campus just got a whole lot better thanks to a partnership between Mountain Line and ASUM Transportation. A brand new bike station opened today with facilities to help students and community members maintain their bikes. After many requests, the new “fix-it station” and vending machine were installed in a bike parking area near the Dennison Theater.
“Ensuring that folks have access to diverse transportation options is key to a healthy community” said Eric Hines MUTD Board Chair. “Ensuring that bicycle and transit routes link up is something that benefits all of us.”
The UM Bike Station is the fourth bike station constructed in Missoula by Mountain Line over the past two years. Later this fall an additional bike station will be opened at the Mountain Line transfer center at Southgate Mall. Over the last 12 months over 33,000 bicycles have been carried aboard Mountain Line buses.
