Mountain Line to host open houses on future plan alternatives

Mountain Line is looking for citizen input on its future priorities as it continues with the latest update to its Strategic Plan. The agency will be hosting a series of open houses in different neighborhoods where citizens can view future alternatives for Missoula’s bus system and offer feedback.

Mountain Line’s Strategic Plan is a guiding document which describes how the agency will direct service over the next 30 years.  This kind of planning takes place every 5 to 7 years. The Strategic Plan seeks to balance the needs and desires of the community with the fixed amount of resources available to provide effective service that benefits Missoula as a whole. Understanding the difficult tradeoffs involved is a key element to making informed choices on how transit should grow in Missoula

Each open house runs from 5:30pm to 7pm and will include a brief presentation and question and answer session with Mountain Line staff and transit design experts. There will be a presentation each night beginning at approximately 6:15pm. Attendees may drop in at any time during the events. Open houses are scheduled at the following times and locations:

  • Thursday, November 2, 5:30pm – 7pm, Florence Hotel Lobby, 111 N. Higgins
  • Thursday, November 9, 5:30pm – 7pm, Home ReSource Community Room, 1515 Wyoming St.
  • Wednesday, November 15, 5:30pm – 7pm, Univ. Villages Community Room, 2595 Maurice Ave.
  • Thursday, November 16, 5:30pm – 7pm, Missoula Fairgrounds Arts Building, 1101 South Ave.
