Frequency equals convenience. The less time you have to wait for a bus, the more likely you are to ride one. It’s also easier to ride when you don’t always have to look at a schedule. That’s why Mountain Line created BOLT!
BOLT! is a high-frequency route designation. When you see it on a map or sign, this means that each stop along that route is served every 15 minutes during Mountain Line’s scheduled hours of operation, Monday-Friday, 7:15am – 6pm. Currently, two routes are designated as BOLT! routes — Route 1, which runs from Southgate Mall to the University and into downtown, and Route 2, which connects St. Patrick Hospital, Target and other popular shopping destinations in the north Reserve area, residential areas on Russell and Johnson Street, and mid-town’s Southgate Mall.
As Mountain Line moves forward with our strategic plan, we hope to add increased frequency to other routes as well, as service requirements, population growth, usage and budget dictate and allow. BOLT! routes are one more way we’re working to improve mobility and make the Mountain Line system more convenient and rider friendly.
