It’s true! Missoula’s getting six zero-emissions electric buses, thanks to a federal clean-air grant and the great success of our Zero-fare program.
Join us on Feb 7, at 12:15 p.m. at the Downtown Transfer Center for a celebration and a sneak peek at the bus designs. Hear about the exciting changes that are moving Missoula forward.
Thanks to the significant ridership gains due to Zero-fare (over 70 percent from 2015), Mountain Line successfully won a federal “Low-No” grant. Intended to reduce vehicle emissions and air pollution, the grant will help pay for six new electric buses! Running electric buses instead of diesel will result in a significant reduction in carbon and other air pollutants, and an improvement in Missoula’s overall air quality.
Don’t miss our reveal of the design of the new electric buses and the presentation of the Clear the Air Challenge winners by Missoula in Motion. Please join Mayor John Engen and other community leaders and Zero-fare partners at this event.
